FOOD IN GERMANY
Sausages and beer are the common known German food and beverages. These are Germans culinary food. Sausages are found in many German dishes or plates. On November 14, Germans have a tradition of “German Beer and Sausage Fest.”
The typical German food is pork, chicken and beef in the meat portion. Out of the three, Pork is used more often. They are used to make sausages that Germans love so much. Pork is usually eaten in a sausage shape and there are about 1500 types of German sausages.
A German breakfast consists of bread or toast, with jam and eggs and sometimes with strong coffee or tea. Vegetables are commonly known as side dishes or in soups. The most common known vegetable eaten is fired onions. Fresh water fish in Germany are trout, pike, carp and perch. Seafood was restricted to places located on the northern coastline. Today seafood dishes such as sardines, tuna and salmon are popular through all of Germany. In Germany, there are side dishes such as noodles, which contain egg yolk, potatoes, and dumplings. Knodel is a popular side dish in the southern Germany area. Knodel is the same thing as dumplings. Potatoes mashed or fired are common and are now popular in German. For desserts, Germans mostly eat Cheesecakes or doughnuts filled with jam. To make all these German food, they use a variety of spices. Some of them are mustard, horseradish, and garlic. They use mustard for sausages. Some herds that German foods have are parsley, thyme, laurel, chives, and black pepper. Juniper berries, caraway, cardamom, aniseed, and cinnamon are used to make main dishes, beverages, and desserts. Basil, sage, oregano, and chili peppers are popular now in the present. Germans prefer pork more than beef. Apart from the others, Germans also like to eat duck, turkey, and geese.

The 76-year old Gerd Käfer serves German food and is famous. He served Elton John, Halle Berry, Sophia Loren, Halle Berry, and Queen Elizabeth II. A German company called the Talis Enterprise is doing him a favor by saying they’ll take him up there before his 80th b-day. The company is planning to launch a six-passenger suborbital space vehicle named Enterprise in 2013, which will take Käfer on suborbital trips up to 125 kilometers. The vehicle will be able to hold six passengers. Overall, the vehicle will be twenty meters long and will weigh twenty tons.
Notable Place: Knodel's Bakery
Knodels Bakery was established in 1901. They don’t sell the Knodels I mentioned; the dumpling-like appetizers. But instead they sell treats or sweets. Such as different types of cake. Each cake length is set as 14-10-6 inches. The cakes each have three layers of cake. Sometimes the bottom layer is hand colored spirals. This specific store sells these special types of cakes for peoples sweet sixteenth birthday. The middle section is written “sixteen” and the top layer has dots, and frosting made bows.

A sausage is one of the best and popular foods eaten in Germany. This is usually eaten with mustard and other side dishes such as vegetables. Since this is one of the most common known foods in Germany, the sausage can be a symbolic object for foods in Germany. This represents that Germans love meats and sauces.
